In Memory of My Father, (RIP)
who was a survivor of Iwo Jima 79 years ago, and to all of those who served their countries in our terrible human struggle to become a civilized world. I pray that someday we will learn to solve our differences without conflict.
The United States Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima Memorial) is a national monument in Arlington, Virginia, (USA). Dedicated 67 years ago in 1954. The War Memorial is dedicated to all US Marine Corps personnel who have died in the defense of the United States since 1775.
After I joined The United States Marine Corps when I ask him, my Father, if he saw the flag being raised there on that day; He said “I was a little busy then but I did see the picture in Time Magazine 6 months later on board ship!”
“Those who do not remember History are condemmed to repeat it“
