This meeting is a very important meeting about how ESG works and why it is bad news. When you invest your hard-earned dollars\, you want—and should be able to—trust that the individuals managing your accounts will act in your best interests to achieve as high a return as possible.But with ESG—or environmental\, social\, and governance—criteria\, investing is driven by a political agenda\, not the best interests of investors. And that’s a huge problem.\n\nSpecial Guest Speaker: Diane Hardy is a former nurse anesthetist turned entrepreneur\, who opened a franchise bakery in Greenville over 6 years ago. She is also the Executive Director of the Mom and Pop Alliance of SC\, which she founded during Covid upon discovering SC’s over 400\,000 small businesses had little representation in our State House. The Alliance provides education\, communication\, and advocacy for SC’s family-owned businesses.  Her passion for SC’s small business is strong\, and as such she donates her time to the organization\, accepting no salary or government funding.  Her love for our state isn’t new.  Before launching the Mom and Pop Alliance she was the founder and host of The Palmetto Panel (2014-2019)\, an annual statewide conference highlighting issues impacting South Carolina.  She has a bachelor’s in nursing and psychology from Michigan State as well as a master’s from MUSC.  She is also a frequent guest lecturer for Clemson University undergraduate business students.

Chandler \nBiography  \nMark: comes to the department after serving more than 35-years in DoD senior executive\, command/senior leadership positions focused on national security policy\, intelligence analysis\, application\, policy\, and operations. \nMark retired from the Marine Corps as an intelligence officer after serving around the globe and in multiple crisis environments.  He is also retired from the Senior Executive Service ranks in Department of Defense intelligence and security policy arenas. \nKey positions Mark held include: Deputy J2 Joint Chiefs of Staff\, Director of Defense Intelligence Agency’s Middle East and Africa Center\, Director of Warfighter Support for Office of Secretary of Defense\, Intelligence\, and Director of Intelligence Analysis\, and Partnerships and Engagements for the U.S. Air Force.  Mark holds a B.A. in Political Science from U. of Alabama\, Huntsville\, and an M.S. in International Relations from Troy University.  He continues to write on issues affecting U.S. intelligence observations\, national policy concerns\, and leadership. \nEducation: M.S.\, International Relations\, Troy University; B.A. Political Science\, University of Alabama/Hunstville. \nTeaching Areas: Intelligence\, National Security\, Strategy \n \n  \n  \n
