A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA REPUBLICAN PARTY

TO ELIMINATE USA ADVERSARIES TO INVEST IN USA LAND, ENTERPRISE, & TECHNOLOGY

Whereas, it should be common sense that adversaries should not be allowed to share homeland possessions; and

Whereas, sharing ownership of our homeland with adversaries does not protect our basic property or citizen’s interests, particularly in times of unrest or war; and

Whereas, investment and/or ownership generally provides the investor access to the institution’s intellectual properties and could be a basis for gathering area and government intelligence; and

Whereas, adversarial control of parts of our homeland can result in the build-up of adversarial strongholds that can negatively impact domestic security in either peacetime or war; and

Whereas, it has been proven in times of war that adversary possession of homeland and its properties, technologies are a detriment to freedom regardless of how it is derived; and

Whereas, China and all of our adversaries demand information sharing where they invest; therefore, they are a formidable adversary; and

Whereas, China and all of our adversaries appear to be investing in US ally country’s subsequent investments in South Carolina; and

Whereas, allowing such investments may have the short-term appeal they can be potentially dangerous and should be avoided;

Therefore Be it resolved, through political discourse and action to: Resist current local, regional, and state initiatives to allow any adversary such as and including China either directly or as a sub-partner to invest in South Carolina property, infrastructure, technologies, etc, and avoid any adversarial investor having access to such investments that may jeopardize domestic technology or provide any access to governmental intelligence.

RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA REPUBLICAN PARTY

CONDEMNING THE AUGUST 8 FBI RAID ON THE RESIDENCE OF FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP

Whereas, Amendment IV in the US Constitution gives every citizen the right to be free from unreasonable search and seizure; and

Whereas, Former President Donald J. Trump, a political opponent to President Joe Biden, has been exercising his right of Free Speech promoting candidates opposed to the governance of the president, the policies of the Democrat party and the actions of the current governmental bureaucracies; and

Whereas, Sending a heavily armed, FBI Hostage Rescue Team to execute this search warrant has NEVER been done in the history of the United States of America but is standard practice in third world “Banana Republics”; and

Whereas, The United States Attorney General publicly assumed responsibility for the raid based on a warrant issued by a low ranking Federal Magistrate who is not confirmed by the United States Senate; and

Whereas, Both the United States House of Representatives and especially the United States Senate, have obligations to oversee and discipline the actions of the FBI/DOJ as needed;

Therefore, be it Resolved, that the South Carolina Republican Party condemns the actions of the FBI/DOJ in this raid and demand that all federally elected representatives of the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate IMMEDIATELY investigate the actions of the FBI/DOJ and where appropriate, initiate impeachment and other legal proceedings against those responsible.

A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA REPUBLICAN PARTY

SUPPORT ACTIONS TO RETURN ENERGY INDEPENDENCE TO AMERICA

WHEREAS, Energy production and use is critical to the future of the world, our country and South Carolina;

WHEREAS, President Joe Biden executed at least two executive orders (EO 13990 and EO 14008) that have heavily impacted the energy industry and severely financially burdened the working populations of the world, our country and South Carolina;

WHEREAS, President Biden’s lifting of sanctions on the Russian Nord Stream 2 pipeline has created increased dependence of European countries on Russian gas supplies and Russian sales of oil and gas have increased to their highest level in 13 years, growing by 20% by June 2022, compared to the first half of 2021;

WHEREAS, the United States uses and produces many types and sources of energy only of which 12% is provided by renewable sources and current renewable technology is not capable of supplying the other 88% for our country or South Carolina;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the South Carolina Republican Party will support:

  • Federal policy supporting our current energy sector, to include fossil fuels (petroleum, natural gas, and coal) that make up 79% and nuclear electric power at 8% of United States primary energy consumption until such a time as renewable technology can meet the needs of our country and South Carolina.
  • Future oil or gas leasing for purposes of exploration, development, or production.
  • Reinstatement of the TransCanada Keystone Pipeline permit with assurances that American materials will continue to be used in its construction.
  • Energy independence for the United States and South Carolina to lower the financial burden placed on the hardest working members of our communities.

A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA REPUBLICAN PARTY

TO ELIMINATE ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL, AND CORPORATE GOVERNANCE (ESG) IN THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, ESG scores are being used by banks, investment, and accounting firms, and credit rating agencies to grade companies and individuals on how well they have adopted liberal “woke” values or policies, such as reducing the effects of climate change, increasing diversity on their governing boards, and supporting social justice causes; and

Whereas, the idea behind ESG is to push companies to embrace ‘net zero ‘investment strategies that would harm the coal, oil, and natural gas industries, while increasing investments in Chinese companies that subvert national interests and damage South Carolina’s manufacturing base, and job market; and

Whereas, under the ESG scoring system, companies will be pushed away from their fiduciary responsibilities for the best return on investments and toward satisfying government social and political demands; and

Whereas, the Biden administration has declared its support for ESG to cut off capital to the fossil fuel industry which has successfully driven up gas prices; and

Whereas, South Carolina Republican Treasurer Curtis Loftis joined 22 other state financial officers from across the U.S. in a letter to the federal Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) highlighting eight concerns with its proposed ESG disclosure rule; and

Whereas, the S.C. Republican Attorney General Alan Wilson sent letters to the Biden administration, stating his grave concerns over ESG investment practices and seriously questioning whether these investment practices are consistent with fiduciary obligations under federal and state law; and

Whereas, the South Carolina (SC) House Republican Caucus 2023-2024 Agenda for SC Success, identifies as one of their pillars “to Remove Liberal Agendas from Business and industry. No ESG,”; and

Whereas, the ESG scoring system, supported by Business and Industry is so dangerous to not only our free economy and economic security but to OUR freedom of choice as well;

Therefore Be it Resolved, the South Carolina Republican Party believes in and supports American innovation and self-governance and rejects all that seek to supplant “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” with “Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG),” as the governing principle of the United States;

Be lt Further Resolved, the South Carolina Republican Party requests the state of South Carolina to take action to end its funding and association with this anti-American business model.

A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA REPUBLICAN PARTY

CALLING FOR DEFUNDING OF AND WITHDRAWAL FROM THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION

Whereas, the United Nations’ World Health Organization (WHO) and the Biden administration are plotting an unprecedented power grab to build a planetary biomedical police state; and

Whereas, the WHO claims draconian authorities, including powers to work with UN member states in quarantining villages or nations, locking down societies, forcing medical “treatments” such as vaccines, and generally crushing medical freedom; and

Whereas, under changes proposed to the WHO’s “International Health Regulations” by the Biden administration — that were considered at the World Health Assembly’s 75th meeting — the dictator-friendly global “health” body would have gained the power to carry out its wishes without even the approval or consent of the targeted nation; and

Whereas, neither the WHO nor the Biden administration planned to consult the U.S. Senate on this matter; and

Whereas, when one considers all of the issues that have been declared a “public health crisis” by governments, the unlimited scope of the power grab becomes even more daunting; and

Whereas, virtually anything and everything could fall under the jurisdiction of global “health” bureaucrats if the agenda proceeds; and

Whereas, The Constitution of the United States contains not one word about health; and

Whereas, Amendment X to The Constitution of the United States declares, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people”;

Therefore be it resolved, that the South Carolina Republican Party calls upon the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives to introduce and pass a bill regarding “No Taxpayer Funding for the World Health Organization Act”; and

Be it further resolved, that the South Carolina Republican Party calls upon the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives to pass H.R.79, the “WHO Withdrawal Act”.

  1. I agree with all of the resolutions to be passed at the SC State GOP Convention on May 20, 2023. YES! We definitely need our country back.

  2. No resolution about using paper ballots? Why did THE HORRY County GOP even bother to vote UNAMANOUSLY for the SC GOP to instruct all Republican legislators to introduce and support the use lf PAPER BALLOTS?

  3. William Bruton
    William, I, Bill Wiegand, Executive Committeeman of the North Conway Precinct #2, from Horry County, South Carolina totally agree with these Resolutions and further propose another Resolution to be presented:

    A Resolution of the South Carolina Republican Party to demand that all Federally Elected Representatives of the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate immediately approve prior forwarded signed resolutions from the SC House of Representatives, Horry County Council, and the Conway City Council to approve construction of a flood Diversion Canal to be dug at the North end of the Waccamaw River to the Little River Inlet to help channel future flood waters away from Horry County to the Atlantic Ocean. These Resolutions have already been sent to our US Senators Lindsey Graham, Tim Scott, and US Representative Russell Fry. Neglecting this Resolution could result in loosing US Highway #501 & US Highway #501 Business. These roads are the major access to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina which is the Cash Cow of South Carolina.

    I have all of this information on file.

    Thanks,

    Sincerely,

    William Earl Bill Wiegand, III.
